Lake Atitlan

The beautiful lake Atitlan is a dramatic beauty formed as a result of a volcanic eruption. According to geological history, the area was once an immense volcanic mountain that blew its top off some 85,000 years ago in a massive explosion. 

Followed by the big explosion, three towering volcanoes formed, the Volcano Tolima, Atitlan, and San Pedro, reaching up to 3357 meters above sea level in the southern shores. Lake Atitlán is made up of 12 villages around. Each of them offers a bit of rich and colorful of our culture.

Lake Atitlan is well known to be one of the most beautiful lakes on earth, surrounded by the Kakchiquels and Tzutujil Mayan culture.

Atitlan Sunset Lodge is the best romantic destination for couples in all lake Atitlan, located Santa Cruz La Laguna, 10 minutes by boat from Panajachel, only accessible by boat.

We have five independent apartments for rent, each with a different design, with gorgeous views of Lake Atitlanand its trio of majestic volcanoes.

Each apartment has good WIFI, a fully equipped kitchen and includes refrigerator, stove, blender, coffee maker, kitchen utensils, microwave, coffee, tea and purified drinking water.

You can enjoy for free a kayak, 4 paddle boards and a private beach so you can sunbathe or swim in the lake.

If you bring a car you can leave it in Panajachel and take the boat to our facilities. The boats leave every 20 minutes from the Tzanjuyu pier in Panajachel.
